Admission Requirements

| General Requirements |

Must have a personal e-mail account and access to a personal (not school)
computer with Microsoft Word

Bachelors degree from an accredited institution of higher education as
required by the
State Board for Educator Certification Texas Administration Code
-
2.50 Overall GPA, or
-
2.50 GPA in last 60 hours prior to receiving conferred degree, or
-
2.50 GPA in content courses
-
Competency in reading, writing, and math will be determined by an evaluation of
transcripts or
-
THEA / TASP (Reading 230, Writing 220, Math 230)
-
'B' or better in English composition, literature, math or a combination
approved by program staff
-
SAT (Verbal 500, Math 450), ACT (Reading and Writing 23, Math 21), or
GRE (Verbal 350, Quantitative - 350) Scores
-
Bilingual candidates may be required to take an oral proficiency test

TOEFL Computer Assisted 213, Paper 550
- TSE 50
-
Successful screening of candidate all program participants will undergo the
Haberman Interview and will complete a Gallup TeacherInsight™ assessment

EC - 4 Generalist/Bilingual or Generalist/English as a Second Language

A combination of 24 hours in English, math (statistics is not applicable to
this area of certification), science, and social studies with at least six
semester hours in each subject (Math must be College Algebra or higher.
Statistic courses are not considered in the evaluation.)

Additional English hours are required for the ESL certification
