End User License Agreement
IMPORTANT--READ CAREFULLY: This TEACHERBUILDER.COM User Contract ("CONTRACT") is a legal agreement between the student, and TeacherBuilder.com ("TBC") 2524 W Freddy Gonzalez Dr., Edinburg, Texas 78539. Verbal assurances or promises not contained herein shall not bind TBC or the STUDENT. By clicking on the ACCEPT button at the bottom of this CONTRACT and using the TBC ONLINE COURSES, the STUDENT agrees to be bound by the terms of this CONTRACT.


SECURITY AND VALIDATION POLICY: It is illegal to attempt to circumvent this ONLINE COURSE. Validation mechanisms are in place to prevent this. Any attempt to circumvent this State-approved online educator program may result in loss of Recommendation for Standard Teaching Certificate to State Board of Educator Certification “SBEC” and/or forfeiture of Module Completion, and forfeiture of payment for the course. Circumvention includes having someone other than the registered individual seeking a certificate of completion taking the module for said individual. If TBC determines that the STUDENT has willfully attempted to misrepresent his/her identity, the STUDENT will be removed from the module and will forfeit any and all fees. In addition, an individual misrepresenting his/her identity in order to complete this state-approved module is committing perjury and other criminal acts which may be punishable by a maximum 10 year prison term and $10,000.00 fine, in addition to possible civil penalties.


TUITION SCHEDULE: The total cost of the Program is $4,665.00 The application fee is $65.00 The Online Module is $600. The internship is $4,00.00 (this fee is payable through payroll deduction over ten months and due once the candidate is hired as the teacher of record in a Texas School district). By accepting this contract the student agrees to pay all fees and tuitions prior to completing the program. Failure to pay all program costs will result in the candidate/intern being classified as a non-completer and TBC will not recommend the candidate/intern for certification to SBEC in addition the intern will not be eligible for a refund of any moneys paid.
MODULE SCHEDULE: The ONLINE MODULE shall generally be accessible and available to the STUDENT twenty-four (24) hours per day following receipt of payment for the ONLINE MODULE ("MODULE START"). The Student will have one calendar year to successfully complete the ONLINE MODULES. The STUDENT must have an Internet connection, sound capabilities, a mouse and Windows Media Player to complete the MODULE. The ONLINE MODULES may work with any browser, but TBC suggests using Internet Explorer versions 5.0, 5.5 or 6.0. Circumstances that would affect the twenty-four hour availability of the ONLINE MODULES include, but are not limited to, system failure, site failure, user and provider connection failures, and user and provider phone line failure. TBC guarantees that the ONLINE MODULES will generally be accessible 24 hours per day, seven days per week. If, at any time, the STUDENT is unable to access the ONLINE COURSE, TBC will adjust the MODULE END date to reflect the period of time when access was unavailable, if and only if, the STUDENT contacts TBC by telephone (866) 822-1144 and informs TBC of the unavailability of access, and if the unavailability of access is the fault of TBC.


CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY: All application and curriculum fees are non refundable. Internship fees are due at the end of each month upon hire. An intern wishing to exit the internship prior to its completion will only be responsible for the monthly fees during the time he was enrolled in the internship.


MODULE COMPLETION AND GRADING POLICY: To be given credit for the ONLINE MODULES, the STUDENT must score at least 70% on each of the ONLINE EXAMS. If the STUDENT fails to receive 70% on the ONLINE MODULE EXAMS, the STUDENT must review the module topics and retake ONLINE MODULE EXAMS AFTER COMPLETING THE MODULE. In addition to passing each exam with at least a 70% the student must complete all modules with an overall average of 80%. Failure to complete the modules with an overall average of 80% will result in the candidate/intern being classified as a non-completer and TBC will not recommend the candidate/intern for certification to SBEC or issue the candidate/intern a barcode to test for the Pedagogy exam. In addition, the STUDENT acknowledges that if they fail to meet the minimum state requirements relating to the Module Validation Questions, or the Personal Validation questions will result in the student failing the module and will not be issued a refund. If the STUDENT successfully completes the MODULES, the student will receive a letter of introduction good for sixty days allowing the candidate to apply for employment in Texas School Districts, and a barcode to register for TExES pedagogy and Content Exams. If a student does not receive the letter of introduction and barcodes within 7-10 business days, the STUDENT must contact TBC within thirty (30) days of completion to these items. It is the responsibility of the intern to Notify TBC within 10 days of hire by any school district failure by candidate to notify TBC of hire in a Texas school district will result in the candidate/intern being classified as a non-completer and TBC will not recommend the candidate/intern for certification to SBEC without the possibility of a refund.


TEXAS CODE OF ETHICS AFFIRMATION: By accepting enrollment into TeacherBuilder.Com, you affirm that you will become familiar with Texas Administrative Code 247.2, pertaining to Code of Ethics and Standards of Practices for Texas Educators found at www.sbec.state.tx.us . You further agree that you will uphold this code of behavior in all aspects of your professional and personal life.


COPYRIGHT AGREEMENT: All curriculum and subsequent materials are the sole property of TBC and may not be reproduced without the written consent of the TBC. Any reproduction of this material without said written consent is a direct violation of the copyright laws of Texas and may be punishable by law.


PRIVACY POLICY: by accepting the CONTRACT, the STUDENT agrees that he or she has read and understands the PRIVACY POLICY. In general, TBC will not share personal identification information relating to the student. By accepting this CONTRACT, the STUDENT agrees that he or she has read and understands the TUITION SCHEDULE; MODULE SCHEDULE; CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY; MODULE COMPLETION AND GRADING POLICY; COPYRIGHT AGREEMENT; PRIVACY POLICY. In addition, the STUDENT understands that TeacherBuilder.com may use third-party databases (pertaining to drivers license, DMV records and other data) to obtain information for identity validation purposes. All of these policies and schedules will be available at any time that the STUDENT accesses the ONLINE COURSE. A printed version of this CONTRACT, containing all of these policies and schedules may be requested by calling TBC at (866) 822-1144. TBC will not recommend a student for certification if the STUDENT has not met all of the requirements of module completion and has paid all fees owed to TBC, and the STUDENT should not accept a recommendation under such circumstances. This agreement constitutes the entire contract between TBC and the student, and verbal assurances or promises not contained herein shall not bind the school or the student. The STUDENT further realizes that any grievances not resolved by TBC (TeacherBuilder.com 2524 W Freddy Gonzalez Dr., Edinburg, Texas 78539) may be forwarded to SBEC, 1701 North Congress Avenue 5th Floor Austin, TX 78701-1494.
